Kia Sedona – The Economy Minivan

The Kia Sedona is a very economical 7 seater SUV ideal for families. The vehicle offers great safety features and a notable warranty. In spite of all this, the vehicle is not a favorite among reviewers who find it hard to recommend the car with all their heart. The Kia Sedona is more of a minivan than a SUV with rather impressive features, space, styling and performance. The latest redesigned version of this seven seater vehicle was launched in the year 2006 and again in 2010, minor changes were made. The Sedona is available in three trim levels: the base model, the LX model and the EX model. More interior space and longer wheel base are noteworthy features of the LX and EX models. Other leading minivans in its class are the Toyota Sienna and the Honda Odyssey.

Kia Sedona Features:

A number of standard features has been incorporated to the 7 seater Kia Sedona like power front windows, tri-zone climate controls, power door locks, keyless entry, removable second-row captain’s chairs, a 50/50 split-fold 3rd-row seats, AM/FM/CD audio system, a 4-wheel ABS, tire pressure monitoring system and a front-row side table with cup holders which can be extended.

The seating arrangement in this 7 seater car is in a 2-2-3 layout. The first two rows of seats can comfortably seat two adults but the third row is more suitable for three children or two adults rather than for three adults. One advantage is that the vehicle offers plenty of cargo space even when the seats at the third row are in use. When the third row of seats is folded flat, 141.5 cubic feet of luggage space becomes available. There are a lot of smaller compartments available wherein smaller items can be stored.

The Kia Sedona is comes in built with a 3.8 liter capacity V6 engine which is quite modest in performance but is still a better bet at this price of $29,195.

Safety Features:

The Kia Sedona is one among those 7 seater cars which focus on the safety of passengers more than anything else. For the purpose, the vehicle is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Side impact door beams, 6 airbags for protection in event of a collision, front and rear 3-point seatbelts and Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) for enhanced safety of children.
