Motorola Xoom Review: Is The Motorola Android Tablet Worth It?

Motorola Xoom has stirred up the public since its release last Feb 24, 2011. This comes in a wide-screen 10-inch LCD that is powered by Android 3.0 and has a lot of amazing features that are indeed worth the fuss. However, the latest innovation pretty costs high and it has drawn even more attention and speculation. Is the product worth the price? Check out this Motorola Xoom Review and see for yourself.

Unlike the Samsung Galaxy tab or Apple’s iPad, Motorola Xoom is quite massive. It is color black and has a metallic feature. The screen is fantastic. It is similar to a high resolution LCD like those in other gadgets; It is even better! The Xoom is very powerful since it is run by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip technology. Chance of lagging is still possible but very rare and depends on the application running. Movements along the screen are quick and responsive. This is the very first tablet to make use of Android 3.0, the latest version of the famous mobile operating system for tablets. It is incomparable! No other Android versions in a tablet form ever works like Motorola Xoom.

The most apparent feature of the product is its 10-inch display. Its resolution is better and sharper than that of iPad. Since it is bigger, the device displays more on the screen without the need to scroll down. The screens of both Xoom and iPad display bright image. However, the Xoom's screen has a bluish cast, creating a cool effect unlike that of the iPad. Plus, the Xoom’s screen is much more sensitive.

Moreover, it comes with two cameras. It has a 5MP camera at the back and 2MP camera at the front. If you are one of those who love taking pictures using a tablet, then the Xoom is definitely for you. The image quality is highly satisfying. The device lets you edit and record movies in 720 pixels as it features a movie editor application. Many mobile devices are capable of photo and film editing but none can be as good as the Motorola Xoom.

When browsing the net, the device is just like using google as the browser. With the device, all you have to do is press the + icon displayed above the address bar and you can open a new site without closing the one that you have already opened. Its bookmarks menu lets you surf better as it is capable of showing 15 sites at once.

The device costs around $600 with a contract and $800 without a contract from Verizon. Many would say that it is very expensive. Remember that even though it is far more expensive compared to other similar devices, the Xoom alone has 32GB memory and 3G connectivity. Soon, a newer version of iPad is going to be released with the same feature at $729 price, very much close to $800 price of the Xoom without contract. Hence, it is definitely worth the price.

So if you are looking for the best device in the form of tablet, the Motorola Xoom is the perfect choice and is surely worth your money.
