The number of patients in various hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health care facilities, that are in need of personal care is on the rise across the country nowadays. To become a certified nursing assistant you need to obtain a CNA certification. The requirements include undergoing a CNA training program, a high school diploma or its GED equivalent, and proof that you have no criminal records. You can then proceed to take the certification exams once you have complied with all of them.

A CNA training takes about 6-12 weeks to complete and includes 75-150 hours of lessons in both the theoretical and clinical aspects of the job. They are normally offered at community colleges, and vocational training schools. However, busy individuals who want to enter this field can also enroll in online classes that are available over the internet. It is available 24 hours a day so it would fit any schedule an enrollee may want to take. A training would cost about $400-$1000 but it can be availed also for free in return for service to be rendered after you successfully obtain your license.

Although the rigors of the job may be discouraging for some, you can expect to be well compensated for it since the hourly salary rate is high and over the average daily wage. Aside from the financial benefit, a career as a CNA can also be your stepping stone if you want to become a registered nurse in the future. However, the most satisfying feature you may get from this job is maybe the joy in taking care of those who are in need of medical attention.
